Mental health, done right.

Brain Bath works with adults navigating:

  • ADHD

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • OCD

  • PTSD

  • Bipolar disorder and other mood disorders

  • Panic symptoms

  • Insomnia and sleep concerns

  • Substance use disorders

  • Personality disorders

  • Mental health changes following concussion or brain injury

Some patients come to us knowing exactly what they need.

Others simply know that something feels off.

Both are completely reasonable places to start.

A psychiatric evaluation that looks at the whole picture

Mental health symptoms rarely exist in isolation.

Difficulty concentrating could be ADHD, but it could also be anxiety, depression, poor sleep, trauma, substance use, medication effects, or several things happening at once.

That is why we start with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation.

We talk about what you are experiencing now, what has happened in the past, what treatments you have tried, what worked, what did not, and what is happening in your life outside of a diagnostic checklist.

At the end of the evaluation, you should have a clearer understanding of what we think is happening and what we recommend doing about it.

Medication management that actually involves management

Medication should not feel like an experiment you were left to figure out on your own.

Brain Bath provides ongoing psychiatric medication management, including monitoring effectiveness, side effects, dosing, sleep, mood, anxiety, attention, functioning, and changes in your life that may affect treatment.

We make adjustments when they are needed and explain why we are making them.

The goal is the right medication, at the right dose, for the right reason.

Adult ADHD psychiatry in California

Many adults with ADHD have spent years compensating for symptoms without realizing there was a name for what they were experiencing.

You may be highly capable and still struggle with:

  • Starting tasks

  • Finishing what you start

  • Staying organized

  • Remembering appointments

  • Managing time

  • Following conversations

  • Controlling impulsive decisions

  • Regulating emotions

  • Keeping up with responsibilities without becoming exhausted

Brain Bath provides adult ADHD evaluations and ongoing treatment throughout California through telehealth.

Mental health care after concussion or brain injury

Brain Bath also has a particular interest in psychiatric symptoms associated with concussion and brain injury.

Brain Bath founder Noah Freiburger, DNP, PMHNP-BC, CBIS, is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist in addition to being a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

We evaluate symptoms including changes in mood, anxiety, irritability, concentration, motivation, emotional regulation, and sleep that may emerge in the context of a previous brain injury.

LGBTQIA+ affirming care in California

Mental health care works better when you do not feel like you need to edit yourself.

Brain Bath provides LGBTQIA+ affirming psychiatric care where patients can talk openly about identity, sexuality, gender, relationships, family, work, and the rest of their lives without judgment.

Your identity is part of understanding you. It is not something we automatically pathologize.

What to expect

Your first visit is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, generally lasting about 45 to 60 minutes.

We review your symptoms, history, previous diagnoses and treatment, medications, physical health, sleep, stress, substance use, family history, and goals.

If medication is recommended, we talk through your options together.

Follow-up appointments are shorter and focus on how treatment is working, what has changed, whether you are experiencing side effects, and whether anything needs to be adjusted.

Insurance in California

Brain Bath participates with many major commercial insurance networks in California.

Because behavioral health benefits can differ by employer and individual plan, coverage is verified before treatment.
